Train, learn and get inspired
Table tennis camps provide athletes with the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy the game in a fun, inclusive and supportive environment. Designed for players of all abilities, the camps combine high-quality coaching with engaging activities that encourage personal growth, teamwork and a lifelong love of the sport.
Whether athletes are taking their first steps in table tennis or looking to refine existing techniques, the camps focus on developing fundamental skills, improving tactical awareness and enhancing physical fitness. Beyond technical development, participants benefit from increased confidence, new friendships and the chance to learn alongside fellow athletes who share a passion for the sport.
The camps also serve as a valuable stepping stone within the athlete development pathway. By introducing new skills, providing expert coaching and encouraging continuous improvement, they inspire athletes to progress into regular training programmes, local competitions and, where appropriate, higher levels of competition. For many, the experience becomes the foundation for future development, helping to unlock potential both on and off the table.
Aberdeen-based camps
In recent years, Aberdeen has benefited from four successful table tennis training camps, each providing valuable opportunities for players to develop their skills, gain experience and learn from expert coaches.
Two of the camps were organised by ADTTA at Aberdeen Sports Village in partnership with Cooke & Deaton, delivering high-quality coaching in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The remaining two camps were organised by Murhad Hussain and Westhill Table Tennis Club, featuring guest coach Sam Wilson, whose expertise and engaging coaching style was exceptionally inspirational.
Each camp combined technical coaching, match play and practical learning, enabling participants to improve their technique, build confidence and develop a greater understanding of the game. Beyond the table, the camps also encouraged friendships, strengthened connections within the local table tennis community and motivated players to continue their development through regular training and competition.
The positive feedback received from participants reflects the lasting impact these camps have had on the local table tennis community. Their success has highlighted the value of providing accessible, high-quality coaching opportunities and has created a strong foundation for future camps. There is great enthusiasm for expanding these opportunities further, helping more players develop their skills, fulfil their potential and continue their table tennis journey.

National Pathway Camps
Organised by Table Tennis Scotland, these training camps are designed to support the development of National Squad athletes and help them realise their full potential. Available exclusively to squad members, the camps provide a high-performance environment where athletes can enhance their technical skills, tactical understanding and overall knowledge of the game.
In addition to on-table development, the camps place a strong emphasis on personal growth, encouraging athletes to build character, develop resilience and foster a positive performance mindset. They also provide valuable opportunities to strengthen friendships and team spirit within the National Squad, creating a supportive network that extends beyond the training environment.
By returning to their home clubs with enhanced skills, greater confidence and a clear understanding of their individual development goals, athletes are better equipped to continue progressing on their performance pathway and achieve success at regional, national and international levels.
