The Scottish National League is Scotland’s premier team table tennis competition, bringing together the country’s strongest clubs and players in a season-long contest. Managed by a committee appointed by the Board of Table Tennis Scotland, the league provides high-quality competition and an important pathway for clubs to compete at a national level.

Each season, clubs submit their team entries by the 1^st September, with the league campaign taking place over three weekends of competitive play held throughout the season.

The Scottish National League consists of 48 teams divided into six divisions, with eight teams in each division. Each team is made up of three players, who may be male or female. A team match consists of six individual matches, with each match played as the best of five games.

League points are awarded as follows:

• 2 points for a win
• 1 point for a draw
• 0 points for a defeat

League positions are determined by the total number of points accumulated throughout the season.

At the end of each campaign, the top two teams in every division (except Division 1) are promoted, while the bottom two teams in every division (except Division 6) are relegated. This promotion and relegation system ensures that every match has significance as teams compete for titles, promotion, or survival.

For many years, Scottish National League weekends were held at Bell’s Sports Centre in Perth, which became synonymous with the competition. Following the flooding of the venue in October 2023 and its subsequent closure, the league moved to alternative venues: National Centre Inverclyde and the Dundee International Sports Centre.

Aberdeen & District Table Tennis Association continues to be well represented in the Scottish National League, with several teams competing across the divisions.

The 2025/26 season was particularly successful for Aberdeen teams:

• Aberdeen A won Division 2, earning promotion to the top division.
• Aberdeen D claimed the Division 6 title to secure promotion.
• Aberdeen B and Aberdeen C continue to compete in Division 3, representing the strength and depth of table tennis in the North East.

From the 2025/26 season onwards, results have been published on Stadium, where future league fixtures, results and standings will continue to be maintained.
