Table tennis clubs and venues in Aberdeen and across Aberdeenshire

Information about places to play table tennis is organised into categories to help you quickly find the most suitable option. Click on the relevant heading to expand the section and view more information. Some sections also include links to pages with more detailed guidance.

Please note that the dates and times of the sessions listed here are subject to change. Please check with the venue to confirm that your chosen session is running as advertised before attending.

Where to play?

Many academies and primary schools in Aberdeen City and Shire hold teacher-led sessions at lunchtimes. There may also be an after-school club, usually run by a qualified coach from ADTTA. In conjunction with Active Schools, ADTTA coaches also hold taster sessions, mainly in Primary Schools, to give P4 to P7 pupils a first introduction to table tennis during curriculum time.

Balgownie Pavilion serves as ADTTA dedicated training facility. Sessions there are run by ADTTA volunteers and are available either as pay as you go (£5/session) or as pay monthly (£20/month). Currently there are 4 session each week, all year round: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 6.30pm until 9.30pm, and Saturday from 9.00am until 11.00am.

Inclusive table tennis and sports opportunities in Aberdeen for people with disabilities are run through Sport Aberdeen ASN Table Tennis, Grampian Disability Sport, and amputee support via Finding Your Feet.

  • When: Every Monday evening, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
  • Where: Westburn Park Pavilion, Westburn Road, Aberdeen AB25 3DE
  • Cost: Free to attend, with all equipment provided
  • Details: Open to all ages and physical or learning disability groups. No advance sign-up is needed; participants can just turn up.
  • Suitable for people with: physical disabilities, vision impairment, hearing loss, learning disabilities, neurodiverse, autistic spectrum disorder.

Stonehaven Table Tennis Club, based at Fetteresso Church Hall, established its Parkinson’s Table Tennis Group in September 2022 with support from Aberdeen Voluntary Action. Since then, the sessions have expanded to welcome people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) and other similar neurological conditions.

Sessions are held every Wednesday afternoon (3.30pm – 4.45pm) and are designed to provide a welcoming, supportive, and enjoyable environment for all participants.

Key features of the sessions include:

  • Pay what you can – sessions operate on a voluntary contribution basis
  • Individual pre-session assessment – each participant receives a brief assessment to understand their abilities and requirements
  • Personalised coaching and games – coaching methods and activities are adapted to meet each individual’s needs and abilities, ensuring everyone can participate safely and confidently.
