Dylan Curry
Dylan started playing table tennis at the age of nine with his dad, who had also played when he was younger. Initially, it was just a casual pastime, but after moving to Aberdeen and joining sessions at ASV, he quickly became hooked. His enthusiasm for the sport grew so much that he squeezed a table into his house, where Charlie Matthew and Dave Low would regularly come round for practice sessions.
During his later junior years, Dylan spent a great deal of time training alongside Colin Dalgleish, the current Men’s National Champion. He travelled from Banchory to Aberdeen by bus four times a week for training and spent most weekends competing at tournaments across Scotland and England.
He travelled abroad to training camps and practised with a range of players, including multiple visits to GV Hennebont in France. Despite these experiences, Dylan will always view Aberdeen as the most significant place in his table tennis career, where his love for the sport truly took shape.
Dylan’s results continued to improve, and he first represented Scotland at the British Primary Schools Championships. From that point on, he greatly enjoyed representing his country. Over the years, he won multiple Scottish and British titles and represented Scotland at every age group level, including the men’s team.
Dylan continued to play while at university, although less competitively, using the sport more as a way to socialise and introduce new people to table tennis. Today, Dylan works as an accountant and rarely plays, but he recognises the significant impact the sport has had on his life and how it has helped shape the person he is today.

- U18 British Champion – 2018
- Won national single titles at U13, U15 and U18 level.
- Represented Scotland at Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships in India – 2019
